João Lincoln Monteiro Chaves is a lawyer with legal training and professional experience in Brazil, an entrepreneur, a legal scholar, and a technology professional based in the United States. As Vice President of the Academia Brasileira de História e Literatura (ABHL), the Brazilian Academy of History and Literature, and the American Society of History, Arts and Letters (ASHAL), he brings together an intellectual background, executive experience, and a commitment to cultural preservation and outreach.

He holds a law degree and a postgraduate specialization in Tax Law from the Universidade de Fortaleza (UNIFOR), a PhD in Philosophy and Theory of Law, and two separate master’s degrees, one in Theory of Law and another in Philosophy. His academic qualifications also include postgraduate specializations in Digital Law and Data Privacy, Philosophy of Law, and Legal Ethics and Compliance. This academic foundation informs his approach to critical analysis, institutional affairs, and the relationships among law, ethics, technology, and social organization.

His legal experience encompasses private practice and public service, including his work as Municipal Attorney for Banabuiú, Ceará, Brazil. As founder of the law firm Lincoln Chaves e Associados, he combined legal practice with administrative and business leadership, developing experience in legal research and interpretation, regulatory analysis, and organizational management.

Throughout his career, he has founded, structured, and managed businesses in Brazil and the United States across manufacturing, retail, hospitality, food services, consulting, technology, and residential construction and renovation. His responsibilities have included business formation, administrative organization, operations management, and strategic decision-making. This experience across different industries has given him a practical understanding of the challenges involved in establishing, sustaining, and developing organizations.

In the United States, he works in business consulting and the planning and development of digital solutions. His experience includes organizational needs analysis, software architecture, and the implementation of systems supporting management and administrative processes. He also develops governance documentation, including bylaws, internal regulations, policies, procedures, and manuals, drawing on his legal, administrative, and technological knowledge.

Cultural entrepreneurship holds a central place in his professional life. As cofounder of Espaço Cultural Café Patriota, he helped bring to life a project that combined dining, a historically inspired setting, and a bookstore to celebrate Brazilian history, literature, and culture. The initiative reflects his belief that private enterprise can contribute to preserving national memory and making knowledge more accessible to the public.

As Vice President of ABHL and ASHAL, he applies this experience to institutional governance, planning, and administrative development. He participated directly in the architecture and development of their digital systems, from technical planning and structural design through development and implementation. His contribution connects institutional organization with the technological resources needed to support academic and cultural activities and sustain their projects over time.

His work is guided by the conviction that culture is a shared heritage whose continuity requires intellectual commitment, responsible management, and a long-term perspective. By bringing together law, philosophy, business experience, and technology, Lincoln Chaves contributes to building institutional foundations that preserve memory, broaden access to knowledge, and carry this legacy forward to future generations.
